Alexei Butirskiy February Show

A Proud Past
Alexei Butirskiy returns to The Key West Gallery February 17th & 18th presenting new original artworks and painting in gallery.  Known for his ability to capture the world around him with works that show natural beauty of a rainy city street, the peaceful calm of a café in spring and the sunset over snow covered fields Butirskiy’s work holds its viewers spellbound and often speechless.  When viewing a Butirskiy piece it is easy to see why collectors continually are drawn to his impressionist styles, his creative use of lighting and the warmth that almost beckons the observer to wander through the scenes themselves.

5th Avenue
Alexei Butirskiy’s well developed natural skills feature the powerful relationship between light and dark throughout his works.  While many artists might see light as the most beautiful and important aspect of their work, Butirskiy allows shadows to play an important and sophisticated role in his art.  The finished product is a painting so amazingly realistic it rivals the best photographs while still producing the emotional connection that only a painter can create.

Since 1996, Butirskiy has participated in over 100 exhibitions.  In the fall of 2007, Alexei was invited to exhibit his work at the prestigious Il Vittoriano in the Piazza Venezia, Rome, Italy the site of many important art exhibitions honoring Picasso, Dali, Chagall, Monet, Manet, Degas and many more. .Alexei’s work is proudly exhibited in galleries and private collections throughout France, England, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, The Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, Russia and the United States.  But only at The Key West Gallery does Alexei Butirskiy have the chance to share so much of his creative experience with fans of his work.

Uncork The Splendor of Thomas Arvid

O What A Night
Thomas Arvid will return to The Key West Gallery January 27th and 28th for another amazing show.  Set against the backdrop of The Key West Food & Wine Festival, the Thomas Arvid show will be the perfect event for any art or wine enthusiast.   Blending together his two great passions, Arvid’s love of wine and art combine on canvas to make some the most sought after new pieces of art.

Lifting Everyone's Spirits

Thomas Arvid has been credited with starting one of the most riveting art trends in recent years.  Arvid’s vast still life compositions of wine and the rituals surrounding its consumption captivate viewers.  With realistic, oversized images of wine in the bottle, being poured and resting in a glass Arvid’s paintings make the observer almost taste the wine without ever opening the bottle…although Arvid does recommend a glass or two of his subject matter.

This show will feature a large variety of Arvid’s pencil sketches, hard to find original oils and embellished giclées.  As a collector himself of both wine and art, it is easy to see Arvid’s appreciation of both and the dedication he puts into creating every work.  These unique pieces of art are not simply attractive; they are a sample of the good life and the celebrations that come with it.

Livin Large

Not only has Thomas Arvid shaken up the art world, his work has found a place in the wine the world as well.  Knowing excellence when they see it, world renowned wineries such as Silver Oak Cellars and Diamond Creek Winery have become avid collectors.   Arvid has even challenged the traditional thought of a canvas, painting some works on authentic wine crates from some of his favorite wineries.

Like a great glass of wine, a Thomas Arvid painting will provide hints of hidden colors, subtle tones where least expected and of course a desire for another taste.  Fortunately, an Arvid painting never runs dry as even the best bottle of wine eventually empties.

Join us for a wonderful weekend with Thomas Arvid, his amazing works and an excellent glass of wine January 27th & 28th.  To RSVP or learn more about Arvid’s work please visit our gallery at 601 Duval Street or contact our consultants at (305)923-1696 or keywestgallery@bellsouth.net.
