A Proud Past

Alexei Butirskiy returns to The Key West Gallery February 17^th & 18^th presenting new original artworks and painting in gallery.  Known for his ability to capture the world around him with works that show natural beauty of a rainy city street, the peaceful calm of a café in spring and the sunset over snow covered fields Butirskiy’s work holds its viewers spellbound and often speechless.  When viewing a Butirskiy piece it is easy to see why collectors continually are drawn to his impressionist styles, his creative use of lighting and the warmth that almost beckons the observer to wander through the scenes themselves.

Alexei Butirskiy’s well developed natural skills feature the powerful relationship between light and dark throughout his works.  While many artists might see light as the most beautiful and important aspect of their work, Butirskiy allows shadows to play an important and sophisticated role in his art.  The finished product is a painting so amazingly realistic it rivals the best photographs while still producing the emotional connection that only a painter can create.  

Since 1996, Butirskiy has participated in over 100 exhibitions.  In the fall of 2007, Alexei was invited to exhibit his work at the prestigious Il Vittoriano in the Piazza Venezia, Rome, Italy the site of many important art exhibitions honoring Picasso, Dali, Chagall, Monet, Manet, Degas and many more. .Alexei’s work is proudly exhibited in galleries and private collections throughout France, England, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, The Netherlands, Canada, Mexico, Russia and the United States.  But only at The Key West Gallery does Alexei Butirskiy have the chance to share so much of his creative experience with fans of his work.

Winter Artists Show Series Announced

The Key West Gallery is excited to announce the first dates of our Winter Artists Show Series!  While most of the country will be bracing for winter snows, scraping ice off of windshields and  braving freezing temperatures The Key West Gallery will be welcoming some of our favorite artists to Key West for some warm days, beautiful beaches and of course amazing art shows.

This January Bill Mack and Gary Welton will bring their hottest and newest pieces to The Key West Gallery.  On January 19^th, 20^th and 21^st Mack will showcase his innovative style featuring the historical movie magic of Hollywood using the original Hollywood Sign as the canvas for Mack’s breathtaking images of classic movie stars.  In addition Mack will show his reliefs that highlight his incredible abilities as a master of sculpture.  The weekend will also feature Gary Welton’s visually stunning paintings that capture movement on canvas and celebrate the human form.

Thomas Arvid will return to The Key West Gallery January 27^th and 28^th for another art show that not only celebrates the elegant beauty of Arvid’s work but his love for his inspiration… great wine!  More than a few corks will be popped this weekend as Arvid shows his original oils, limited edition giclées and pencil sketches.  With The Key West Food and Wine Festival as the backdrop this weekend is the perfect reasons to escape to Key West for a winter get-a-way.

While February may be a little cold everywhere else, Key West certainly has a few warm breezes in store for visitors.   No wonder world renowned Russian Artist Alexei Butirskiy chose to return February 17^th, 18^th, and 19^th for another fabulous show at The Key West Gallery.  Described as one of our generations most promising artists Butirskiy’s landscapes draw in the viewer with soft light and chilling shadows.

Bill Mack Show Extended!!!!

Due to overwhelming requests artists Bill Mack and Gary Welton are adding two extra days to their show at the Key West Gallery.  Both Bill Mack and Gary Welton will be showcasing their artwork January 7^th & 8^th and will also return January 11^th & 12^{th at} the Key West Gallery. 

With the great success of the Bill Mack December show closing out an amazing 2010, there is no better way to launch into another great year than with a follow up show.   With the extended show also come extended show specials.

Once the stockings are empty and the presents are open you can still deck the halls with The Key West Gallery at our special Bill Mack December Shows on December 26^th and 27^th.  Join us with special guests world renowned sculpture and artist Bill Mack and painter Gary Welton for a two day showing of their latest pieces.

Bill Mack has created an innovative way to display sculptures as wall art that allows collectors to showcase a variety of pieces.  Mack’s continually evolving techniques have embraced new mediums including the incorporation of real rose petals in Roseessence and brass beading in Brassesence.  These pieces will leave you stunned, both are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. 

Longing, one of Bill’s newest reliefs is elegant while also creating a feeling of romance that will surely have a place in your home.  Perhaps the best show special offered during our December Bill Mack show is Radiant book package which includes a relief in stainless, the virtual relief and book with collectors’ box all in matching numbers.  This limited edition set includes a small edition of each of Bill’s current virtual relief.  A perfect set for the beginning collector or a long time Bill Mack fan.

Artist Gary Welton will also join us, sharing his latest painting capturing dance and movement.  Welton’s paintings frequently serve as the inspiration for Bill Mack’s reliefs, a partnership which lead to the Ocean Predator relief.  Gary Welton and Bill Mack will be on hand to share their techniques and tell some of the incredible ways they find their inspiration.  A Bill Mack Show is always an experience; of course a Key West setting makes it all the more memorable.
